Death Stranding Update 1.05 Now Live Featuring Performance Improvements

Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding has been out for about a week now, and as such plenty of folks have weighed in on what is quickly becoming the most controversial game of Hideo Kojima’s career. While the verbal war rages on to determine whether or not Death Stranding is a good game, Sony has released a new Death Stranding update that will be tackling some of the performance issues players have come across thus far.

Death Stranding update 1.05 is now available for download on the PlayStation 4. While many may be expecting the patch notes to be extensive given that it’s the first update since the day one patch, the actual note for 1.05 are…underwhelming. Here they are, take your time to read through them all:

  • Various performance improvements

For the sake of comparison, Death Stranding update 1.04 had twice the amount of patch notes, with the update weighing in at just over 1GB:

  • Various performance improvements
  • Multiple problems fixed

It is currently unknown what “various performance improvements” are targeting, and we can only hope that Kojima Productions will come forward with some more thought-out patch notes for us to digest. In the meantime, players can keep doing what they do best: act as a dedicated courier in a beautiful post-apocalyptic world.

Death Stranding is now available for PlayStation 4, with a PC version arriving at some point next year.
