First Death Stranding Recording Gave Hideo Kojima “Goosebumps”

Death Stranding

Death Stranding remains one of the biggest mysteries in the gaming world, but we’ve been lucky to learn quite a bit about the title from Hideo Kojima and team. That said, the Japanese voice over cast has begun lending their talents to the project, with the first recording sessions commencing.

Taking to Twitter, the director shared a few photos to celebrate to beginning of Kenjiro Tsuda and Nana Mizuki’s work on Death Stranding. Tsuda will be taking on the role of Norman Reedus’ character, while Mizuki is set to step into the shoes of Léa Seydoux’s. Kojima, however, revealed that the recording session was giving him “goosebumps.”

We learned of who the Japanese cast consisted of earlier this year, which is also when we caught our first glimpse at Troy Baker’s mysterious Man in the Golden Mask. In other news, award-winning science fiction author F. Paul Wilson recently had dinner with Kojima while the director was visiting New York City, and he believes the upcoming game is going to be a “transformative online experience.” More on that here.

We still don’t know when Death Stranding will be released to the masses, but it is currently in development exclusively for PlayStation 4. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we learn more, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:

What say you, gamers? Does the fact that Kojima got goosebumps during a recording session make you even more excited for Death Stranding? Will we see the game launch in 2019? Sound off in the comments section below, and be sure to follow DFTG on Twitter for live gaming and entertainment news 24/7!
