Dead Island 2 Build From 2015 Surfaces Online
As many can imagine, video game development is a daunting task that requires a lot of work to create quality end results. As such, any number of obstacles can arise that result in a game being caught in development hell. There have been many elusive games like these over the years, but several infamous ones like The Last Guardian have managed to escape the clutches of development stasis. Dead Island 2 has been one such continuously delayed game that has seen production stalled several times. Now, a lost Dead Island 2 build has surfaced thanks to a new leak.

Twitter user Jason Harrdington has shared screenshots of the leaked Dead Island 2 build on his official Twitter account. The build is apparently from 2015, which was when Yager Development was the first developer to be in charge of the Dead Island 2 project. Yager Productions was cut off from the production in 2015, with Sumo Digital taking over development in 2016, and later Dambuster Studios in 2019. THQ Nordic claimed last year that we would be hearing more news from them soon about the game, but that news never came.

It should be noted that this Dead Island 2 build may not be representative of the final version to be released, which is currently slated for the end of this year. With the project being passed to three developers at this point, it is likely that changes have been made since this 2015 build by Yager Productions. Still, this build looks quite colorful and lively, albeit a little rough and graphically dated. Hopefully Dambuster Studios is able to finish the game this year, so we can trade one apocalypse for another.
