New Dead By Daylight Saw Crossover Brings Back Jigsaw (VIDEO)
Dead by Daylight has initiated crossovers with dozens of movie properties over the years, but Behaviour Interactive is preparing to bring back one of its biggest for an all-new event. In a new collaboration with Lionsgate, the horrific Saw film series and its star killer Jigsaw are making a return to Dead by Daylight to once again “play a game” in a new season-long event.
As per IGN, the notorious Jigsaw is set to arrive in Dead by Daylight on January 26th as the latest entry in the game’s Archives mode. Following protagonists Amanda Young and Detective Tapp, the so-titled ‘Tome 10: Saw’ will tout a number of new challenges and rewards based on the trap-setting horror series, including new outfits and as many as “60 new cosmetic items” to be earned during the event. Narrated by Jigsaw actor Tobin Bell, a new trailer also accompanied the crossover’s announcement, which can be viewed below.
For those outside the know, Dead by Daylight first introduced The Archives back in 2019, offering a fresh assortment of challenges players can complete for rewards. Released on a seasonal basis as “Tomes,” players are able to unlock neat bits of lore themed around the event as well as snag limited-time items from a free and premium battle pass called “The Rift.” Saw debuted as a full chapter back in 2018, but The Archives now looks to offer much more fun in that regard, as well as plenty of fun easter eggs for fans of the horror film franchise.
“Over and above our primary objective of providing our fans with fun and continuously renewed content, one of our goals when integrating a powerful movie franchise such as SAW is to invite a larger community into the Dead by Daylight universe,” Dead by Daylight game director Mathieu Cote said, via IGN. “We’re truly grateful to our partner Lionsgate for offering us this opportunity.”
Dead by Daylight is available on Android, iOS, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
