WATCH: Dead By Daylight Saw Spotlight Video Shows A Very Twisted Game, All New Perks Revealed
It wasn’t long ago when Behaviour Interactive and Starbreeze Studios officially revealed the Saw series’ Jigsaw, a.k.a. “The Pig”, as the next featured killer to join the survival horror game. As part of the Saw Chapter DLC, a female apprentice has taken up the twisted mantle of Jigsaw to bring in a new era of gruesome trap-setting. Though we knew a bit of this already, more detailed information has finally arrived via a Saw spotlight video.
As featured in the video below, the map of the game is The Pig’s base of operations, the Gideon Meat Plant, where the killer’s traps and the stench of “blood, rust, and fear” is ever present. Survivors navigating the lair are in constant danger of being ambushed and fitted with Reverse Bear Traps as part of the “Jigsaw’s Baptism” power. The only way of saving themselves from being turned inside out is to search for the key to unlock their trap inside “Jigsaw Boxes” found around the map.
As seen above, the Saw spotlight video also goes into the perks players will receive when playing either side of the 4v1 multiplayer. The Pig has three perks. The Hangman’s Trick prevents Hooks from being sabotaged or destroyed by sacrifices, with them repairing after a small delay. A second “Surveillance” perk allows for sensing the Auras of the last regressing generators. The final “Make Your Choice” perk presents Hook rescuers with a Skill Check, which damages the rescuer if they fail the challenge. This last perk only works if The Pig is at least 24 meters away.
The new Survivor of the Saw Chapter DLC, David Tapp presents his own set of perks to counteract The Pig, coming with three as well. “Tenacity” grants the obsessed detective with the ability to crawl and heal faster than average. “Detective’s Hunch” reveals the Auras of in-range generators, chests, and totems for three seconds while repairing a generator. The final “Stake Out” perk awards a Token for standing in The Pig’s Terror Radius for a set time. This earned Token can be spent to convert Skill Checks with a “Good” rating into a Great Skill Check.
“Are you willing to do what it takes to survive?” The Saw Chapter is out now on Dead by Daylight for the price of $6.99 USD. The DLC is available digitally through Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
