The Zombie Survival Game ‘DayZ’ Finally Claws its Way into Beta Status
The zombie survival game DayZ seems to have been in Early Access stage forever, but more accurately four years – but that has finally changed as the game officially begins its move into beta status, inching closer and closer to completion.
DayZ first burst onto the scene back in December of 2013 and has since been stuck in alpha hell, making players of the game wonder what the status exactly is in relation to progress and when it will progress past the present unpolished state. While remaining in alpha stage, there have been many adjustments made to its play style, which of course is the purpose of alpha testing.
Update 6.3, comes following the yet to be released 6.2 update, is the big one that players are waiting for – the move into official beta status. The millions of players (over 3 million copies sold) currently enjoying DayZ finally have some good news about the developmental stage, given that the title was pushed back in terms of popularity as titles like ARK Survival Evolved and H1Z1 began to capture gamers’ interest.
Though an announcement back in 2014 mentioned DayZ’s release for console as well, a full release has yet to be seen on any platform and that did have rumours buzzing if it was even going to happen. With the announcement of the next milestone being achieved, players can expect better news as the team continues to make the necessary improvements to make the full game a reality.
At this present time, DayZ is only available on PC via Steam’s Early Access program and is on sale for $29.95 until May 8th, with a usual retail price of 35 USD.
