Cyberpunk 2077 To Likely Be More Seamless Than ‘The Witcher 3’
CD Projekt RED is creating quite the world with their upcoming futuristic RPG based on Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk 2020. With no release date in sight, players are still excited for the title – especially ever since the developer decided to show the world 48 minutes of sweet, beautiful gameplay. That said, the level of immersion that will be featured in Cyberpunk 2077 is sure to be unlike most experiences gamers have enjoyed over the years.
This is one of the reasons that CDPR chose to go with a first-person perspective in Cyberpunk 2077. Interacting with NPCs throughout the journey will not only result in various situations, but it would appear that doing so is going to be as seamless as possible, even more so than The Witcher 3.
Speaking with PC Gamer Magazine, lead cinematic animator Maciej Pietra touched on reactionary gameplay and how it is incorporated in the upcoming Night City adventure. “If you turn and look at something during a conversation, we want the NPC to notice,” Pietra stated. This type of feature is a great example of how far gaming and technology have come in the past decade or so.
It also goes to show how CD Projekt RED is pulling no punches when it comes to the development of Cyberpunk 2077. Naturally, people will attempt to connect all sorts of dots between the future RPG and the developer’s previous well-known series, but there isn’t much there to compare. Of course, that’s not going to stop anyone from doing it, but when it comes to the futuristic side of things, the seamlessness may be unparalleled.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but no launch date has been specified by CDPR as of yet. Rumors are stating 2019 could be the year, but only time will tell.
