Crash Bandicoot 4 PS5 Version Announced, Upgrade Details Revealed (VIDEO)
Sony is starting off 2021 promisingly, as the PlayStation 4 slowly transitions towards its end with the rise of the PlayStation 5. To help shine a bright light for owners of either console, Sony confirmed that there would be a new PlayStation State of Play presentation that unveil new details about new games coming in 2021. Among the games highlighted are brand new releases like Kena: Bridge of Spirits. So far, third parties have favored re-releasing PS4 games on the PS5 with upgraded graphics and features. Such is the case again as during the event, a Crash Bandicoot 4 PS5 version was announced with descriptions of the features and upgrades that will be coming with the next-gen version of the game.
Sony released the new Crash Bandicoot 4 PS5 trailer on their official PlayStation YouTube channel, after it first premiered during the new PlayStation State of Play presentation. The trailer confirms the sequel to the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy has been ported for next-gen, taking full advantage of the improved hardware. Among the new updated features for the game are native 4k targeting 60 FPS, and 3D audio for capable headphones. The already colorful game already looks even more vibrant on the PS5. The new version also takes advantage of the adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller, which will make each weapon in the game feel slightly different.
To ensure fairness for those that owned the PS4 version of the game, Sony has confirmed that PS5 owners that have purchased the PS4 version of the game will be able to update to the Crash Bandicoot 4 PS5 version for free. Owners of the digital PS4 version will have free access to the PS5 version, while disc owners will need to have the game in their console in order to download the full PS5 version of the game. Transfer of PS4 version save files to the PS5 version have also been confirmed as well. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will arrive on March 12, 2021. This new version of the experience will certainly make Crash fans say “WOAH!”
