The Wait Continues – Crackdown 3 Release Date Delayed

Crackdown 3 release date delayed

The upcoming Crackdown 3 has been ramping up to be quite the experience when it drops in November. However, there is only one catch – it’s no longer coming out at the same time as the Xbox One X. In fact, Microsoft has recently confirmed that the Crackdown 3 release date has been delayed… again.

As it is with most delays in the gaming industry, this is to ensure fans receive content at its finest quality. The title’s multiplayer aspect was originally slated for a 2016 debut, but was later delayed to this year. In a blog post, creative director Dave Jones attributed this to wanting to deliver the best possible experience to players. Had they stuck to the original plan, they would not have been able to provide gamers with something “they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible.” That is also the reasoning behind the latest Crackdown 3 release date delay. Speaking with sources, Microsoft Studios GM Shannon Loftis said:

We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it’s a difficult call to move the release date. However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time. Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.”

Loftis also confirmed this on Twitter, stating, “To clarify: the entire game is moving to Spring 2018. It’s super ambitious, and we want to make sure the game delivers.” Recently, Terry Crews’ character was highlighted in a trailer for the now delayed title. This only makes the news that much more disappointing. Not all hope is lost, of course. Delaying the game will(hopefully) only make it better when it is released next Spring for Xbox One and PC.
