Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Banned On PS4 In Russia

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty franchise is no stranger having a Russian villain with the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare having the main antagonist be a Russian ex-arms dealer who became an ultranationalist party leader. The Modern Warfare reboot will also be featuring some questionable situations involving Russians as well, which seems to have led to the upcoming shooter being banned in the country on PlayStation 4.

A recent post to Twitter from the Call of Duty RU account reveals that while the game would be available digitally for PC and Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 will not be seeing the same. The post does claim that the game won’t be coming “at this time” implying that there is a possibility that in the future the PlayStation Store will release the title but for now fans are out of luck.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is extremely close to being released, with a launch date of October 25th and will be available of PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It’s curious as to why the publisher announced they won’t be bringing the title on Russian PlayStation 4 players so close to its release date, especially for the one platform.
