Given the nature and lore of the Borderlands franchise, there’s no doubt that there are some fans who would love to see a movie adaptation made at some point in the future. While not much has been said about the movie that is in development at Lionsgate since its 2015 announcement, this hasn’t stopped anyone from putting together their dream cast. According to Borderlands 3 creative director Paul Sage, his choice for the lovable Claptrap is none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

During a recent interview with VG247, Sage was asked who would be perfect for the role of Claptrap on the big screen. “Who could play Claptrap? Our audio guys would tell you, ‘Hey, we can make anybody Claptrap,” Sage said. He then went on to give his nomination for the character, saying, “I think The Rock. Yeah, The Rock has to play Claptrap!”

Now, we all know that they could get anybody to play Claptrap as all of the vocals would just be run through various effects and whatnot, but The Rock would certainly be a great choice for the character. He is used to bringing the heat when it comes to action films, and if a Borderlands movie is to be made, we know there will be plenty of action. The actor has also been known to crack a joke or two, which Claptrap is certainly known for. Either way, it will be fun to see what happens when they start casting.
