Borderlands 3 Release Date Possibly Found In Reveal Trailer (VIDEO)
The Borderlands 3 reveal trailer officially dropped recently, confirming that the next installment in the popular franchise is not destined to become another Half-Life 3. After fans were able to collect their thoughts from the incredible video, which we broke down right here, one eagle-eyed Vault Hunter may have spotted the release date in the reveal trailer itself.
According to Reddit user Zottelpanda, Borderlands 3 will be releasing on October 1st of this year. How they came to that conclusion is a series of numbers found in the reveal trailer. As we all know from the initial teaser trailer, Gearbox sure does enjoy hiding things for fans to find. Before we dive in, let’s take another look at that awesome trailer:
As can be seen in the Borderlands 3 trailer above, particularly at the 1:41 minute mark, there is a “01” seen on one of the giant skyscrapers. 12 seconds later, a “10” can be found on the massive building within The Children of the Vault’s compound. This would lead one to believe that the potential release date is January 10th, but there are a couple factors that lean more towards an October launch.
At the 1:39 minute mark, before the skyscraper is seen, we see the building with the “10” on it, only the number isn’t there. This could be nothing, but it could mean that the “10” is meant to come before the “01.” Another large factor that plays into the fall release is the fact that this October will mark the 10th anniversary of the original Borderlands. Since all of the remastered goodness of the other entries in the series are coming out next week, that would likely mean Gearbox is aiming to celebrate the joyous occasion with the release of the third main installment.
Of course, this is all speculation at this point, but that’s what we as gamers enjoy doing. In any case, we will be learning more about Borderlands 3 on April 3rd, so keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
