BioWare Currently Preparing Anthem Gameplay For E3 Showcase
The Summer is fast approaching and that also means E3 is headed our way. Once again, the doors of the United States’ largest video game exhibition is open to the public with plenty of surprises in store this year. Namely, BioWare will be showcasing their latest intellectual property, Anthem, with some “focused” content.
According to BioWare creative director, Brenon Holmes, who also happens to be an active user in the Reddit community, revealed a few tidbits on their plan on showing off their latest game. Responding to questions from fans, he stated that the teams are currently “perfecting” the content that will be shown. One Reddit user asked how the developers are scheduling their time for E3. “Yep everyone is currently working pretty hard,” said Holmes. “We’re doing a lot of iterating and polish on the content that will be the focus for EA Play / E3.”
As for inquiries regarding on how E3 has affected the progress and general development of the overall game, the creative director was candid in their approach to the Anthem showcase, saying:
It’s more a question of focus… the things we’re showing have to get done at some point, but if we weren’t showing it at E3 we’d likely be doing it in a slightly different order.”
As for their day-to-day work schedule, Holmes admitted there are always lots of collaborative efforts going on so different teams are on the same page as Anthem progresses toward completion.
Mostly a lot of collaboration and ensuring that everyone is on the same page. This means a lot of emails, powerpoint decks, and general communication. Personally, I’m also generally pushing on project or studio initiatives… for example, looking at our longer-term strategies for ‘live’ technology and how we get to a good place for Anthem and for other titles.”
