BioWare Responds to Andromeda’s Animation Critique – Day 1 Patch Questions Answered
The sci-fi action game Mass Effect: Andromeda is almost here, and with any major release comes a great deal of anticipation, though recently, some are beginning to be less enthused than others. Not long after the RPG’s EA/Origin Access trial went live, the internet went ablaze with complaints that Andromeda‘s animation, specifically characters’ facial animations, appeared strange and unfinished. BioWare producer Michael Gamble responded to the criticism on Twitter in a remarkably chill manner, voicing his appreciation for fan passion and assuring the game’s rewarding story.
We appreciate the critiques (and memes!), but I am very happy to see how much y'all like the game after 10 hours…and…it gets even better

I can't wait for everyone to dig deep into MEA and spend hours in the story. Personally that's where I find the best reward

Reaction to Gamble’s Tweets have been generally positive, with players agreeing that Mass Effect: Andromeda still has much to offer besides the the way characters move. Still unexperienced by the public are the game’s expansive story, relationships, and exploration that could only be truly enjoyed in the full version of the game. Some are still understandably upset that aspects aren’t as polished as they would like, especially after developer BioWare addressed concerns regarding facial animations last year.
Disappointed fans expecting future updates to fix Andromeda‘s animation may have some waiting to do. Lead designer on the game Ian Frazier revealed on Twitter that the deadline for determining day one patches has passed, with future updates still up in the air at the moment. One can expect that “cleaner animations” will be somewhere higher on that list than originally planned.
At day 1? No, that ship has sailed. We'll have more patches later on, but exactly what goes into them is still in discussion.

Though all of the fervor surrounding the new Mass Effect game’s animations may turn off many from wanting to play the game altogether, it’s currently unknown if something that extreme is entirely justified with so much of the content still left to be experienced. I guess we can only find out for sure when the full game releases for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 21st.
