Beyond Good And Evil 2 Livestream Highlights Concept Art, Ships, And More (VIDEO)
Since the surprise announcement at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo(E3), Ubisoft has kept things under wraps regarding their upcoming title. However, a recent Beyond Good and Evil 2 livestream has shed some light on what the team has been working on since June. Narrative director Gabrielle Shrager, senior producer Guillaume Brunier, creative director Michel Ancel, and community developer Kevin Erwin were all part of the broadcast that showcased what’s currently being developed.
Concept art was aplenty as the team went into depth about characters and the customization options for them. Mind you, development is still in the early stages, but the group of individuals working on the game has tripled in size since the E3 announcement. That’s not the only thing that has grown, of course, as Ubisoft’s fan initiative, the Space Monkey Program, is approaching 80,000 strong. Among the progress shown was also a handful of ships, which can be seen below:
The Beyond Good and Evil 2 livestream also revealed the ambitions of the development team. The game will be taking a page out of No Man’s Sky‘s book in that it will feature seamless planetary exploration. For those who haven’t had the chance to check out Hello Games’ title, this means that planet jumping will be done without loading screens or transitions. You see a place – you go there. It’s that simple.
As far as gameplay goes, players will be able to team up via online multiplayer and even create a fleet so all of that space travel doesn’t get so lonely. The ships shown above also offer a plethora of customization options, so the not-so-solo traveling can be done in style. Speaking of which, customizing characters goes beyond the sweet wardrobe options. Players will be able to effectively change the DNA of a species. Want to turn an ape into a crocodile? Go for it! Enjoy some concept art while you’re thinking of the possibilities:
It’s still too early to know exactly when Beyond Good and Evil 2 will arrive, but Ubisoft is certainly hard at work ensuring everything is right. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news, check out the following:
