With DICE shifting their focus to the release of Battlefield V in October it’s a bit surprising to discover that they’re giving Battlefield 1 a visual update. With Xbox One X fans seeking to get the most of their console, this latest news is well received. Now fans wishes are coming true as the summer update for Battlefield 1 includes full 4K resolution.

For comparison, Battlefront II hits dynamic upper-end 4K native resolution and it is very likely that Battlefield 1 will land in the same place graphically. A dynamic scaling solution would ensure 4K at 30 FPS or 60 FPS at upscaled 4K. The Battlefield V twitter had a lot to say on the subject, with more updates to come:

As part of the release of Summer Update to #Battlefield 1 happening today, we have planned downtime across all platforms while we update game servers. Downtime for each platform is as follows: PC: 08:00 UTC PS4: 09:00 UTC Xbox One: 10:00 UTC”

Battlefield 1 has gotten plenty of expansions recently and some are even available now free for a limited time, like Turning Tides for example.
