Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time To Feature Local Multiplayer (VIDEO)

Crash Bandicoot 4

The Crash Bandicoot franchise has primarily been a single-player experience, as far as the main story is concerned at least. Crash Bash was a title that featured some party game multiplayer modes for fans to enjoy while racing titles like Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart also provided players with some fast-paced action they could take part in with friends. Now it seems that players will be able to take part in more N’Sane action, either competing against one another or even working together should they so choose in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

A new first look at more gameplay for Crash Bandicoot 4 reveals some new multiplayer modes that will appear within the title, including 2 more competitive ones. Within the Bandicoot Battle Mode, players will go head to head against each other in one of two games called Checkpoint Race and Crate Combo. Checkpoint Race is pretty straightforward, having players participate in a series of time trial races against each other to see who can complete the level with the fastest time. Along the way, they’ll be able to see ghosts of their past rivals to see how they’re doing against others and can even stop time by breaking crates to give them a little added edge. The Crate Combo mode is similar, having players race but in this game, players will gain points based on smashing as many crates as possible, with each increase in value on each consecutive success in destructive prowess.

Supposing that competition isn’t quite what Crash Bandicoot 4 players are looking for, they can also play in a cooperative mode called Pass N’ Play that allows players to pass a controller between each other in order to complete the various campaign levels. Whether in the standard version of each course or in the N’ Verted variants, players can take on each with up to 3 friends similar to the competitive Bandicoot Battle Mode taking control of Crash, Coco, Fake Crash, or in her debut, Fake Coco. Unfortunately, the Competitive and Cooperative modes are only available as local multiplayer and online multiplayer isn’t going to be supported at this time.
