Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within Episode 5 Features Two Very Different Endings

Enemy Within Episode 5

Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within episode 5 is on its way and a new press release is getting fans up to speed on what to expect. Same Stitch, as the episode is called, will include features bound to make fans of the infamous Joker quite happy. The graphic adventure game that allows players to make choices that influence the story and play as both Batman and Bruce Wayne is ramping up to have an epic ending.

Batman: The Enemy Within episode 5 is expected to release late this month and will be the culmination of the choices made in the previous episodes. Two vastly different endings are expected for the finale depending on these choices that will influence which ending the player gets. Here is what Telltale had to say in their recent press release:

What would you choose: a friend whose unhinged approach to justice turns your allies against you, or a sworn enemy who will stop at nothing to see you suffer as your city burns? Based on the relationship you’ve built with John Doe, you’ll see one of two very different stories play out. So what’ll it be, Bruce: friend…or foe?”

The total play time is expected to be roughly three and a half hours long. The two different stories will share very little by way of scenes that overlap, totaling only a scant three moments that are shared between both storylines. Lead writer James Windeler weighed in on Batman: The Enemy Within episode 5 and how players choices will shape the Joker:

Without exaggeration, Same Stitch is the most ambitious piece of content Telltale has ever produced. We had to adjust our usual development process to accommodate the added scope, but it was super important to us to honor players’ choices, whether they chose to befriend John or not. We had to deliver on the season’s central promise of allowing players to craft their own Joker.”

In the end, Batman: The Enemy Within episode 5 looks to provide players with a satisfying end to a well-developed story. For those interested in checking out the series before its release they can get a copy on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mobile. Same Stitch is expected to release March 27th for all listed platforms.
