Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Release Window Revealed (VIDEO)

Baldur's Gate 3

After making its initial appearance a year ago, fans have undoubtedly been excited to see a third Baldur’s Gate game finally come to fruition with all the large-scale content, wealth of D&D lore, and immensely crisp visuals that one might expect from a next-gen entry of the series. While it’s been a while since Larian Studios dropped a new Baldur’s Gate 3 update, the developer has very much been teasing one as of late, with this month’s big Guerilla Showcase set to deliver a much-awaited announcement.

As revealed in an all-new community update video, Baldur’s Gate 3 is now set to enter Early Access this coming August, with the addendum of “maybe.” Larian head Swen Vincke voiced his confidence in the release window but remained ultimately uncertain due to the restrictions put in place by the still-very-prevalent COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless of when the third entry sees release, Vincke gave a rundown of all the progress the team has made since their last big showcase, teasing impressive new visual overhauls and various tweaks to combat. The announcement was front-ended with a glorious in-engine trailer, which can be viewed below.

While August is when fans can expect (for now) to get their hands on Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian assured the game will be showcased much sooner in an upcoming livestream on June 18th. Taking place ahead of the Dungeons & Dragons Live charity event, the stream will be dedicated to showing off all the improvements made to the game over the last few months. More details about the livestream will likely be revealed in days leading up to the event, but Larian has already begun teasing what players might see during the experience.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to release in Early Access for Google Stadia and PC in August 2020.
