Ares Revealed As Wonder Woman’s Villain – New Photos Here!

Ares

The DC Cinematic Universe is readying to grace the theaters with Wonder Woman’s June 2nd release. As we draw closer to that fateful day, new photos from the movie’s set have emerged, teasing anxious viewers with a little more insight into this long anticipated feature. Coming from the pages of French entertainment magazine, Studio Ciné Live, it has been revealed that the villain of the plot will, indeed, be Wonder Woman’s half-brother Ares, just as previous rumors had thought. The magazine also dropped a few behind the scenes photos most of which focus in on the star of the show, Gal Gadot, and these images show off some pretty beach scenery coming our way.

The magazine also goes on to confirm that Ares will, in fact, be playing a major role in the conflict that Diana will have to face as she works to save the world. The magazine article was translated by Les Toiles Héroïques and offers a brief statement from actor, Chris Pine, who plays Steve Trevor. Pine explains that his character, an Allied spy in World War 2, is responsible for stealing a notebook of scientific formulas before his plane crashes into the ocean just prior to his rescue.

Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. It turns out that it might interest Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (the Amazons and Zeus rebelled against Ares and Zeus died from the hand of his son)… ~Studio Ciné Live

With this revelation, we’ve been given some insight of the central conflict of the upcoming film, which ties into November’s trailer reveal that Danny Huston would be playing an unnamed Nazi officer. Now that we know that Ares will be the central villain, this leads us to believe that perhaps he will be masquerading as a Nazi in attempts to try and secure the scientific formulas for his own gain. Of course, we could be totally wrong still and we’ve yet to learn who will be playing Diana’s brother, but from what we have seen of the movie so far it is looking like Huston will be donning the main villain’s mantle.

So what do you think of these photos? Do you believe Ares will prove to be a formidable foe for Wonder Woman to face off with? Are you excited to see Diana on the big screen this summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
