The Epic Games Store has been offering gamers new freebies each and every week, but that number has multiplied considerably for the current holiday season. For twelve days, fans are getting the chance to grab a dozen full titles, each doled out on the daily for the price of nothing. Today’s newest freebie has now added Ape Out, allowing players to let loose their inner ape as a violent rampaging gorilla.

The description, as per the Epic Games Store listing, describes Ape Out as a “a wildly intense and stylized smash ‘em up about primal escape, rhythmic violence & frenetic jazz. Build up nearly unstoppable momentum and use your captors as both weapons + shields to crush everyone on your procedurally generated path to freedom.” Check out a gameplay trailer for the game below.

The stylish top-down beat-em-up is one we’ve covered before, but Epic Games is now allowing fans to play it for themselves–but only for a limited time. If Ape Out looks like a fun time, fans will have until December 24th at 8am (tomorrow, at the time of writing) to take advantage of the deal, after which a new game will become free for the Holiday season.

Ape Out is available for Nintendo Switch and PC.

What do you think? Are you excited to get the chance to play Ape Out, or have you already played the game elsewhere? What game do you think will be freely released next?
