Animal Crossing New Horizons Super Mario

After more than a year since the last general Nintendo Direct that did not focus on a single franchise or classification of game, Nintendo finally broke their streak with a new Nintendo Direct today. Promising new looks at the many titles that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2021, Nintendo delivered in their usual fully-packed fashion. Nintendo also revealed new updates for pre-existing games, including new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighters Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Now, the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons Super Mario update has also been revealed, bringing content from the plucky plumber’s universe to the game.

Nintendo unveiled the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Super Mario DLC update during today’s new Nintendo Direct video presentation on their official YouTube channel. The quick trailer shows the new Mario-themed clothing and furniture items that will be made available for purchase in the game. Among them includes full body outfits and hats modeled after Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Wario. The video shows off the interactive features of some of the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons Super Mario items. For instance, the player can purchase two warp pipes, placed at separate locations on their island, and be able to use them to transport themselves from one warp pipe to another. There’s also the classic flagpole that appears at the end of Super Mario levels that can be changed from a Bowser flag to a Mario flag. The new update including these items arrives for download on February 25th, although the items themselves won’t appear on the game’s item catalogue for purchase until March 1st. That’s just a hop, skip and a super jump of a wait for any Mario or Animal Crossing fan, if you ask me.
