Alleged Leak Highlights Potential Assassin’s Creed Empire Location (PHOTOS)
The year 2016 saw no release from Ubisoft on the Assassin’s Creed front. It had been mentioned back in 2015 that they would be taking the year off to reexamine the franchise and ensure they are heading down the path that they want to. Well, even though last year brought about many rumors concerning the beloved stealth action-adventure games, the year is done and 2017 is upon us. Maybe this is the year we get Assassin’s Creed Empire, which is heavily rumored to take place in Egypt. Well, thanks to a post on NeoGAF, we now have a few images to speculate about. Mind you, this is all alleged and is, in no way, confirming anything about the next Assassin’s Creed title.
The first image(below) shows the presumed protagonist standing in a corridor. There appears to be a stairwell covered in cobwebs in front of him. As we all know, there’s nothing that says “old” quite like cobwebs. You know what else is old? Pyramids. Those are really old. The massive stone blocks that make up the structure surrounding him would also indicate that he could potentially be in a pyramid. Again, this is all speculation.
The second image(below) is a more zoomed in look of the first one. We get a little better look at what’s going on in the alleged Assassin’s Creed Empire leak. At the top of the image, we see a symbol or marker than indicates the location of where you are heading towards. Whether it’s the thought process of thinking Assassin’s Creed Empire might be taking place in Egypt or not, that symbol looks like a sarcophagus.
Another part of the image that points at Egypt being the next location is at the bottom. While the text can’t really be read, if you squint hard enough, you can make out one word that is in all capital letters. Under the assumed protagonist’s right foot, we can see a word that looks an awful lot like GIZA. Of course, this is the location of The Great Pyramid of Giza, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World.
