Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition Is The Silent Hill 2 Mod We’ve Been Needing (VIDEO)

Silent Hill 2

Silent Hill 2 is regarded as one of the best horror video games of all time. Arriving in a market primarily dominated by the Resident Evil franchise, it was a bold move by Konami to bring their own heat to the genre. That said, someone has created a Silent Hill 2 mod that looks so good, it might as well be a remaster.

Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition takes a title that has seen better days and gives it a wonderful makeover. Improving upon many aspects of the 2001 classic, the mod team has poured a ton of love into updating a fan-favorite. To see some of these changes in action check out the video below. Be warned, however, that there will be spoilers for Silent Hill 2, and while we know the game is 17 years old, maybe your backlog is even older.

According to the Silent Hill 2 mod’s website:

Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition is an ongoing project of enhancement packages that add various visual, audio, and bug improvements for the PC version of the game. Notable examples of what the enhancements improve on is the use of a widescreen camera in the game; higher display resolutions; removal of prominent audio bugs; PlayStation 2 quality audio and fog; better controller support; and much more. The use of these enhancement packages, made by a collaborative team of wonderful modders and programmers, makes for a definitive Silent Hill 2 HD experience.”
