Star Wars Battlefront II Reveals New Game Mode Featuring Ewoks
Back in 2005, the original Star Wars Battlefront II players enjoyed battles in space, fight as troopers on land, or even as Heroes and Villains of the franchise. There was also a unique gamemode called Hunt which allowed fans to take control of creatures such as Ewoks, Wampas, Tusken Raiders, Jawas, and more. Now the Hunt game mode is making a return in the rebooted Battlefront II featuring everyone’s favorite furry creatures from the forest moon of Endor.
Going live on April 18th, the Ewok Hunt game mode will surely bring back memories as players take control of Ewoks in a battle against Imperial Stormtroopers. Similar to the original Hunt mode, the battles will be loosely based on actual scenarios in which the characters encountered each other with weapons fitting each faction. EA describes the mode as follows:
The ambush begins as Ewoks attack unsuspecting stormtroopers, using spears, Wisties, and other skills to take down their opponents. Each stormtrooper defeated spawns as another Ewok, multiplying until the Empire’s forces have been completely eliminated, and the Ewok celebration can begin. However, the stormtroopers’ superior training and firepower are more than a match for the Ewoks. Armed with a cadre of weapons as well as flashlights to pierce the darkness, players must hold back the Ewok’s ambush if they have a hope of surviving until an extraction team can arrive.”
Arriving alongside the new Hunt game mode are some Endor-themed cosmetic items for existing character such as Endor Han and Endor Leia. Players will be able to spend in-game credits, or the returning real money currency of Crystals, to buy these cosmetic additions.
