Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn Coming to Nintendo Switch Soon! (VIDEO)
Gamers of the early 90’s, prepare to take a walk down memory lane! Back in 2014, it was revealed that Shaq-Fu would be forging a long-awaited comeback since its initial run on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo in 1994, making it a 20 year revival to take the masses by storm. Unfortunately, after the initial reveal trailer for Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn was released in 2015, very little else was discussed about the upcoming title, other than the game would be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC and Wii U.
Recently, however, it was revealed that the game is most certainly reaching fruition, and will now be coming out on the Nintendo Switch as well. For now, it is unclear if the Switch release will take the place of the Wii U’s, though Saber Interactive’s CEO has confirmed the title will definitely be coming out cross-console in the near future. Check out the teaser trailer below to see the brand new title in action:
After a fantastically successful crowdfunding campaign, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn sets forth on its journey towards becoming a cult classic video game for PC and console. It’s all thanks to you guys that supported us and believed in our dream. You’re partners in our success and we’re thrilled to have you on board.” ~ Saber Interactive
For those who have played the original 2D title, one might remember exactly how hilariously terrible this game was. Even Shaq himself admitted the original Shaq-Fu was bad! However, it seems that awful title garnered a strong cult following because of its strange content and story line, as the crowd-funding campaign for a reboot raised a shocking $458,000 to rebuild it from the ground up. With this successful campaign, game developers promise a more robust gaming experience, with intentions to “make a solid, fun and addictive game that is sure to give sore thumbs to even the most battle hardened gamer”.
