Just last week, Halo Wars 2 debuted on Xbox One and PC and other news from 343 Industries right off the bat. In an attempt to regain trust and make up for past mistakes, the studio is working hard to make sure the launch goes well. Coming soon, there will be a “large” update for the game containing bug fixes, upgrades, an anti-cheat system, connectivity issues, and more. In even better news, for those curious about the game itself, Microsoft announced that a free Halo Wars 2 Demo for Xbox One is available now and information on the PC demo will be disclosed soon.

In the demo, players will have an opportunity for a closer look at the first campaign mission called”The Signal”. You’ll even get to test out the game mode Blitz Firefight, where players go head-to-head with waves of AI “using a pre-built deck of cards from Captain Cutter or Atriox”. Unfortunately for some, this demo is only available for those with an Xbox Live Gold membership. For those with a PC, as long as there is a Micrsoft account, then the demo will be available after launch.

Looking for good news about Halo first-person shooters? 343 Industries’ founder, Bonnie Ross, announced that every FPS game will have split screen form now on, especially after the unfortunate exclusion from Halo 5: Guardians. Unfortunately for 343, the frustration and disbelief expressed by the community was quite transparent. However, during DICE Summit 2017 (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain), Ross officially addressed this issue once and for all.
