League of Legends Unveils ‘The Hunt for the Blood Moon’ – New Skins and Game Mode
The blood moon is upon us! League Of Legends developer Riot Games has released a new featured game mode, titled ‘The Hunt For The Blood Moon.’
The temporary 5v5 mode takes place on a re-skinned Summoner’s Rift, in which players choose from a pool of Assassin champions to do battle amidst demons, spirits, and each other. Rather than a battle for the other team’s nexus, the spooky new mode features a point system, where each team earns points by killing the Demon Herald, roaming Spirits, and the other players. Whichever team gains 350 points first, wins.
“Blood in the Heavens. Blood on the Earth.”
Due to the blood moon’s ‘curse’, all defensive items in the item shop are disabled for this mode, which effectively turns matches into fast-paced bloodbaths. It certainly suits the assassin motif. Speaking of, if any of the assassins manages to perform a killing spree, the character will turn invisible, allowing you to sneak up on your opponents and catch them unawares. Check out the trailer for the new mode below!
