Xbox Night Mode Adds A Screen Dimmer And Blue Light Filter (VIDEO)
Microsoft has announced that an official Night Mode is in the works for Xbox consoles. The company has begun testing various features of Xbox Night Mode with Xbox Insiders via the latest Alpha Skip-Ahead update, which went live on August 6. The new Night Mode brings with it some intriguing features such as a screen dimmer, controller LED brightness options, a blue light filter, and more.
As reported by The Verge, the new Xbox Night Mode brings with it several admittedly handy features, whether it be for those looking to avoid blue light near bedtime or for younger gamers doing their best to hide that they’re up past their bedtimes playing video games. Hey, we aren’t here to judge. The below YouTube video goes over some of the features:
As shown in the video, the Night Mode contains a ton of customization options, particularly with regards to the screen dimmer and the blue light filter. The aforementioned Xbox Night Mode features can all be turned on manually or scheduled to activate at certain times of the day, whether it be at established ‘sunrise and sunset’ times or times that are manually chosen.
It should be noted that the Night Mode features may change between now and their official release out of the Alpha Skip-Ahead build. Still, the features shown at the present are impressive, and it’s nice to see Microsoft making a continued effort into implementing accessibility tools for its Xbox consoles.
