Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Netflix Series Wraps Season 1 Filming

Live-Action Cowboy Bebop

Netflix has sought to flood its service with high-quality films and television series to help increase the value of the service, with one of its biggest focuses in recent years being in the world of anime. The streamer has found success with creating original anime series like Aggretsuko and the Castlevania anime adaptation but has gotten flack for its attempts at adapting classic anime series like Death Note into live-action forms. Some fans have expressed hope for the new live-action Cowboy Bebop series at Netflix to learn from these mistakes, and now it has been confirmed that season one of the new series is now complete.

Actress Daniella Pineda, who is portraying Faye Valentine on the new live-action Cowboy Bebop Netflix series, recently shared an update on her official Instagram account. Pineda had taken a break from social media posting the past two months due to production on the series, but the actress came back to inform fans that filming for the first season had been recently completed. In the photo, Pineda is seen wearing a t-shirt with characters from the classic Cowboy Bebop anime on it.

Cowboy Bebop

The live-action Cowboy Bebop Netflix series began filming in late 2019, but experienced filming delays due to both a knee injury had by Spike Spiegel actor John Cho and the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming in New Zealand was able to resume last September, and apparently just recently finished. Aside from Cho and Pineda, the series will also star Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Alex Hassell as Vicious, and Elena Satine as Julia. Director of the original anime series, Shinchiro Watanabe, has been brought on as a creative consultant to ensure series accuracy and hopefully appease fans that have been hurt by Netflix’s past live-action anime adaptations. The series is expected to release sometime later this year. Until then, we’ll see you, Space Cowboy.
