My Hero Academia ‘Ultra Impact’ Game Announced For 2021
My Hero Academia is going Plus Ultra with a brand new video game. Officially called My Hero Academia Ultra Impact, the title is a free to play mobile game that will be releasing for Android and iOS devices in Japan next year.
The news comes by way of the folks over at DualShockers, which reported on the recent announcement from Bandai Namco through the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. While the game will as mentioned be free to play, it will include microtransactions and gacha elements. As for gameplay, My Hero Academia Ultra Impact is turn-based, revolving around a story mode that recreates some of the more memorable moments from the manga/anime. As such, plenty of the franchise’s more well-known characters will be featured, so expect Deku, Bakugou, and all your favorites.

It’s currently unknown when the game will be releasing next year. That said, DualShockers estimates that registrations for the Closed Beta Test will likely open up later this month, which would suggest that the game could release in Japan at some point in Q1 2021. The title has yet to be confirmed for the West, though given the worldwide popularity of My Hero Academia, it’s likely only a matter of time.
