Kingdom Hearts Melody Of Memory Revealed (VIDEO)
Last year finally brought the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3, which concluded the long-running Xehanort Saga, which had begun with the franchise’s first entry in 2002. With that significant portion of the series over, many have been wondering what the future for Sora and friends might hold. In addition to previously announced projects, Square Enix decided to reveal another they’ve been working on – Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. Check out the trailer below:
It seems that Melody of Memory is a new rhythm-based game, where players will traverse the worlds of Kingdom Hearts and fight enemies in-sync with the orchestral music from the series. The game will be coming to PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch later this year. It also appears that the game may contain a continuation of Kairi’s story in Kingdom Hearts 3. Hopefully fans see this new game as a light into the franchise’s future. We could all use a light in the darkness right about now.
In other related news, Reddit user Skullboj recently shared an image that they discovered when datamining a new Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road website created by Square Enix earlier this week. Their efforts discovered an image that would appear to be a logo for Melody of Memory. It does not seem to be related to Dark Road and some have pointed out that the logo’s color and design scheme somewhat resembles that of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
The next big project that Square Enix has been promoting is the upcoming mobile game Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road, which focuses on young Xehanort and Eraqus, but the publisher had also promised that two other games were also in the works. It looks like the third mainline game may have been an end to Sora’s saga, but it’s certainly not the end of the franchise!
