Pokemon Sword and Shield are little more than a month away from being within Nintendo Switch owners’ grasp. The game is promising to be the next big step forward for the franchise, with the new Galar region. This region will hold many new features, but one that has fascinated the internet has been the Galarian forms of beloved Pokemon. So far, The Pokemon Company has revealed the new looks for Pokemon like Weezing and Farfetch’d in the Galar region, to much fan response. Now, the new Galarian Ponyta form has been revealed, in quite an unusual manner.

The Pokemon Company’s official Twitch channel recently held a livestream to unveil the new Galarian Ponyta form. The livestream consisted of a 24 hour cycle of footage, mainly of a forest with glowing mushrooms. Throughout the 24 hours, the silhouette and veiled form of a horse-like Pokemon could be seen throughout the edges of the environment, whilst galloping sounds could be heard.

At the very end of the mostly silent and still 24 livestream, two horse-like Pokemon begin trotting out into the center of the video. They appear to be the Galarian forms of Ponyta, the original gen 1 Pokemon, but now with cotton candy-colored manes, tails and a unicorn-style horn. Ponyta’s classic cry was also heard during the appearance, as the stream’s “camera” is knocked over at the end. Some believe the cry heard at the end is actually Rapidash, so it could be possible that we see a Galarian form of Ponyta’s evolved form also. This is yet another delightful Galarian form for the game, and fans already can’t wait to send this majestic steed into battle. What do you guys think about the Ponyta Galarian form?
