Pokemon Masters’s conception began as a suggestion from Game Freak’s designer and director Ken Sugimori. According to the studio, Sugimori wanted to create a franchise property that featured “all past and present Pokemon trainers from the video games.” Not only will players get to battle alongside fan-favorite characters such as the classic water-type gym leader Misty, rock-type gym leader Brock, players can even battle side-by-side Sinnoh champion Cynthia.
Based on gameplay footage shown during the conference, Pokemon Masters is a mobile title and will feature three-on-three battles. Players will get to control each trainer on their team with flashy moves such as the “Rock-Solid Rockslide,” in which Brock literally flexes so hard that his shirts disintegrates into thin air. Sweet.
