Youtuber ICE Poseidon Swatted In Public Once Again

ICE Poseidon

Popular YouTuber Streamer ICE Poseidon has found himself once again the victim of a senseless and quite damaging Internet prank known as “swatting”. For those that don’t know, swatting is a prank where an anonymous call is made into law enforcement with the sole intention on reporting a false crime against someone else for the intents and purposes of having the victim humiliated in public by being swarmed by police or SWAT officers. The incident happened in the Los Angeles area, after ICE and another individual had their car stormed by SWAT officers who held the two men at gunpoint after a report that a robbery had been committed.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. As in previous instances, ICE Poseidon found himself swatted on an airplane after a false bomb threat was called in against him. He was escorted off the plane before it came to light that the report was, indeed, false. In the most recent incident, ICE Poseidon and his companion could be seen in a video getting into a vehicle on East Olive Avenue in Burbank. Police were seen in the background swarming the car. He captured the moment, during which he said, “Somebody said some bad s–t. I’m shaken.” He then put his hands out the window and got out, though he kept filming until an officer yelled for him to put the camera on top of the car.

Luckily, the incident blew over, once police realized that no crime had actually been committed. Once ICE and his companion were taken into custody, the truth came out and they were released. Unfortunately, this third attempt at swatting could potentially damage this YouTuber’s reputation, which is always a hard blow to recover from. Earlier this year, an incident with another popular YouTuber, PewDiePie, closed one of his YouTube channels, much to the uproar of his fans. This smaller incident just goes to show how important YouTube celebrities have become, for good or for bad, and if ICE Poseidon has been the target of senseless pranking three times, there’s no telling what could become of his reputation at this point.

Thoughts on this swatting prank? Should law enforcement take more precautions against this kind of false crime reporting?  Make sure to join in on the discussion in the comments below, and don’t forget to follow DFTG on Twitter for live gaming and entertainment updates 24/7.
