YouTube TV Now Available On PlayStation 4 Ahead Of PS Vue Shutdown

YouTube TV Now Available on PlayStation 4 In Place Of PS Vue

it looks like the era of the PlayStation Vue has finally come to an end. Last last year, the folks over at Sony announced that it would be shutting down the PS Vue TV viewing service early this year. Now that the January 30th shutdown date is quickly approaching, Sony has announced that YouTube TV is now available for PlayStation 4 owners as an optional replacement.

With YouTube TV now available on the PlayStation 4, users have the potential to stream over 70 live channels. Those that check out the PS Vue page will receive a message saying “please consider YouTube TV as a cable-free live TV alternative.” The service itself isn’t free, of course, and as such those looking to subscribe will have to pony up the $50 subscription fee.

With the new arrival of YouTube TV to the PS4, those interested in checking it out can partake in a free trial to see if it’s worth the subscription. Here’s the official breakdown of the service’s features courtesy of Sony:

• Cable-free live TV. No cable box required.
• Watch major broadcast and cable networks, including ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, HGTV and more, including your local sports & news channels.
• Watch on your smartphone, tablet, computer, and TV
• Cloud DVR without DVR storage space limits. Each recording will be stored for 9 months.
• 6 YouTube TV accounts per household. Everyone gets their own login, recommendations and DVR.
• Monthly pay-as-you-go membership cancel anytime.

PS Vue is slated to shut down on January 30th, 2020.
