Yakuza Kiwami 2 “Extreme” HD Remake Confirmed After Rumors Circulated Earlier This Week (VIDEO)

Earlier this week the rumor mill was in full circulation as Yakuza news kept pumping out good news after good news. With a new mobile game from the franchise, and the developer team working on a new game adaptation of the manga Fist of the North Star, it’s a good week to be a Sega fan. Yakuza 2 will be getting an “extreme” HD remake following the first title’s remake earlier this year. For now, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is just set for a Japan release but it is possible it could be coming to the west at a later date, just like with the first remake. Check out the trailer for it below:

Just like fans saw in the first Yakuza remake, Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be a complete overhaul on visual and audio quality throughout the game. By utilising the Dragon Engine from Sega, the overall Yakuza experience from the past will be brought into a new age of game quality as seen in Yakuza 6. A complete rework isn’t the only thing fans of the original Yakuza series have to look forward to! With the new remake comes new aspects to gameplay. Not only will players be able to partake in never before seen scenes, but will now have the option to play as Goro Majima!

Save the date, because Yakuza Kimwami 2 will be launching in Japan December 7th.  What are your thoughts on the Yakuza series so far?
