Yakuza Kiwami 2 Mini-Game List Includes Peeing, Golfing, And More (GALLERY)
The Yakuza series has been very well known to Western fans to fully embrace their stranger minutiae of daily Japanese life. Recent Yakuza entries have also used their unique position under the Sega umbrella to utilize the company’s video game collection and arcade machines to add an extra sense of authenticity to what Japanese citizens are exposed to on a daily basis. The upcoming Yakuza Kiwami 2 has looked like it would continue this tradition as a remake of the original Yakuza 2. Now that the Yakuza Kiwami 2 mini-game list has been revealed, players can see that it includes a very different, but very real, Sega arcade machine as a point of reference.
Gematsu has translated the latest post on the title’s official website, which has detailed the mini-games that can occupy players’ extra time in Yakuza Kiwami 2. The list features mini-games seen in previous Yakuza installments, including karaoke and classic casino card games, as well as real arcade titles from Sega’s past, like 1995’s “Virtual-On”. One very odd piece of Sega software has also made it into the game – the Electronic Pop “Toilets” that Sega has installed in its interactive shops in Japan.
The special urinal is one that allows the player’s urine stream to control a variety of games displayed on the screen above the porcelain portal, such as “Splash Battle! Milk from the Nose” and “The North Wind, the Sun, and Me”. However, just like in real life, Yakuza Kiwami 2 players will have to eat and drink to produce enough urine to reach a decent score in the games. Eating and drinking in-game will give players “Toilet points” that allow them to play with the “Toilet” when they achieve a full tank. This is definitely a weird inclusion for Yakuza Kiwami 2, but nonetheless a welcome addition to the game that references Sega’s real life library.
Shogi and Mahjong will also be available to play, as well as the Coliseum’s activities and the Gravure Photo Studio. All of these can be seen in the gallery above. Yakuza Kiwami 2 will release for the PlayStation 4 on December 7 in Japan.
