Xbox is continuing with another round of its monthly Games with Gold program, issuing a limited-time assortment of free games to members of Xbox Live Gold. Though not as wide-reaching as its sister platform Xbox Game Pass, it has nonetheless maintained staying power for its simplicity and relatively cheaper price point. Of course, as the month of February nears the bend, a new selection of freebies is now set to debut for the service very soon.

As of now, four new games are being primed for players’ screens in the coming weeks, with vibrant point-and-click adventure Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse and Resident Evil-ish survival shooter (with lots of water) Hydrophobia debuting on the very 1st of February. Games with Gold brings two more titles on February 16th: Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, a fast-paced runner with Spider-Verse-like visuals; and Band of Bugs, a blocky turn-based tactics title with the gimmick of – you guessed it – bug combat.

Xbox Games With Gold for February 2022

• Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse – Available February 1st to February 28
  • Play as American George Stobbart and sassy French journalist Nico Collard, on the trail of a stolen painting and a murderous conspiracy. A conspiracy with roots older than the written word, leading to the start of another epic Broken Sword adventure.
• Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield – Available February 16th to March 15th
  • Take on the role of Wally, a mysterious character always in motion as you run, jump, slide, or dash to the soundtrack of Danime-sama. With the average runtime of an action movie, this is a game built for both speed runners and casual gamers alike.
• Hydrophobia – Available February 1st to February 15th
  • Use the engineering skills of the heroine, Kate, to fight back against terrorists who have taken control of her floating city. Featuring fast-paced action and breathtaking visuals, unleash the power of the water itself to wipe out your enemy, in this third-person survival adventure game.
• Band of Bugs – Available February 16th to February 28th
  • Play as your Avatar and fight against, spider, bugs, and even your friends in Spider Hunter Mode. Band of Bugs is a fast playing, accessible game for fans of the tactics-strategy genre, that puts you into the game.

The Xbox Games with Gold opens its doors to February freebies on February 1st, but a few games from last month’s selections are still available to redeem for a tiny bit of time. Cyberpunk-style hack-and-slash NeuroVoider and trippy arcade reimagining Space Invaders Infinity Gene are set to disappear by the end of January 31st, but members will still have access to pixelated survival RPG Aground for a bit longer until February 16th.
