New WWE 2K20 Gameplay Trailer Shows Off The Fiend, Hulk Hogan, And More (VIDEO)
For the past ten or so years, wrestling fans have for the most part come to expect the same cycle from video game offerings. WWE has released a plethora of video games over the course of its existence, many times unchallenged by competitors like TNA or NJPW. However, a lot has changed. WWE 2K20 is the first game Yuke’s did not develop, instead being the first done by Visual Concepts. Upstart competitor All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has also made its intentions of having a licensed game known. With these two factors, there’s a lot of intrigue in particular for this current edition of 2K’s game. With the title coming out this month, 2K has released a brand new gameplay trailer showing off some of the stars of the roster.

There’s a whole lot of big names in the trailer. We get our first look at Toni Storm, NXT Champion Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa, Io Shirai, and more current NXT talent. A lot of legends like Hulk Hogan, Sting, X-Pac, and Jerry Lawler received some screen time as well. The game’s DLC characters, featuring fantasy horror versions of wrestlers, are also shown a bit. It seems that on top of some crazy stuff like a Devil Finn Balor and Zombie Sasha Banks, these characters will each have an arena that matches their new aesthetic. This is one of the most drastic changes to the game this year as previous games DLC packs were mostly just geared toward adding new wrestlers and moves to the game.
We’ll see if a change of pace could be what keeps this series at the top of the heap when WWE 2K20 releases on October 22nd on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
