World of Warcraft: Shadows of Argus Trailer Arrives a Week Before 7.3 Patch (VIDEO)

Shadow of Argus

One of the most successful MMORPGs (massive multiplayer online role playing game) of all time, World of Warcraft (WoW), is getting prepped for the latest patch, dubbed 7.3. The new patch will bring fresh story elements to WoW, taking players to three different regions in the Battle for Argus story line. Just ahead of the public roll-out of 7.3, Blizzard has released a story trailer for the update, titled Shadows of Argus. Check out the epic cinematic video below:

The above trailer may lead players to believe that all hope is lost in an attempted invasion of the Burning Legion’s stronghold, Argus, but rest assured that the fight is far from over. In The Battle for Argus, players will align forces with Velen aboard his vessel, the Vindicaar, with which he will lead you through the invasion. After 7.3 goes live, new story elements and regions will arrive each week to tell the tale in an episodic way.

You can check out what each week will bring below, as outlined by Blizzard:

  • Week 1: Begin the invasion of Argus and embark on an epic storyline beginning in Krokuun. Team up with the Army of the Light and take the fight to the very heart of the Legion in the Antoran Wastes. Gain access to new World Quests and Emissaries on Argus.
  • Week 2: Finish the story of Krokuun and travel to the ruined draenei city of Mac’Aree. Gain access to Invasion Points and thwart the Burning Legion’s plans on other worlds. Additional World Quests in Mac’Aree are available along with access to Invasion Points.
  • Week 3:  Finish the Shadows of Argus storyline, unlock all World Quests, and venture into the new dungeon, the Seat of the Triumvirate. Activate your Netherlight Crucible on the Vindicaar to begin forging Relics.

WoW: The Battle for Argus

Gamers will become quite familiar with the Vindicaar, as it will become the central hub and base of operations for WoW players playing through The Battle for Argus. The ship will contain all of the amenities one is accustomed to including quest givers, vendors, trainers, mailbox, and innkeepers. There will also be a portal that will return those who play to Dalaran, so that they aren’t completely stuck on another world.

Along with new story elements, gear, and maps, 7.3 also brings a couple of new factions to WoW.  The first being The Army of the Light, a group of freedom fighters that have been battling the Legion for generations. The second faction, Argussian Reach, is largely made up of refugees fueled by their desire to reclaim their home lands from the Legion.

World of Warcraft: The Battle for Argus (Patch 7.3) is slated to release on August 29, 2017. What did you think of the trailer? Are you still an active WoW player?
