A recent video featuring the Witcher 3 musical composers shows what went into the soundtrack of a title that is still going strong a couple years after its release.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was released in 2015, has seen its fair share of success. Regarded as one of the greatest role-playing games of all time, the title has a compelling composition that draws players even deeper into Geralt of Rivia’s tale. The video, captured at a 2016 Game Developers Conference(GDC) session(but only just released), features Witcher 3 musical composers Marcin Przybylowicz and Mikolai Stroinski. They discuss the inspirations behind the game’s wonderful soundtrack and its “beautiful ugliness.” Check it out below:

There’s no denying the power that music has when properly aligned with a game. Perfectly syncing with the pacing of the narrative and a title’s action only creates a more immersive experience, and one that players can certainly appreciate. The Witcher 3 musical composers did an incredible job with this and it’s one of the many reasons the game will continue to be loved for some time to come.
