Warhammer Vermintide II Beta Just Around The Corner For Xbox One

Warhammer Vermintide II

The first Warhammer Vermintide proved to be an interesting title which threw players into a brutal gothic world where gritty heroes found themselves fighting to survive against the “Skaven” menace. The sequel to the series has proven to be more gory and brutal than the first though sadly only PC players saw a release of the title. Xbox One and PlayStation players will soon get their chance to have a taste of glorious battle however starting with a new Warhammer Vermintide II Beta coming to the Xbox One.

Originally, all three platforms were set to receive the title this Spring but unforeseen circumstances forced them to be pushed back. According to an interview with Producer Robert Bäckström, the Xbox Beta is close and the hope is make it more than just a port – which he explained what the first title felt like.

We’re really close to release. We’ve got a beta coming to the Xbox One now, through the Insider Program, and it’s starting any day now in the next few weeks. Vermintide’s release on Xbox One will be this Summer, with PlayStation 4 to follow. I would say we’re almost there, but we want to use the beta to get the final touches right for the console version. The first game was more of a port, now we want to do something better.”

Improvements sounds great and worth the extra bit of waiting for console players. Bäckström also mentioned bringing “native 4K textures” to the Xbox One X and better frame rates for all in the future, as well as various other interesting features such as split screen co-op and more. Console players may not have a release date yet but it’s hard not to get excited once more for when it finally arrives.

Warhammer Vermintide II became available for PC players on March 8th and has seen great success. In the meantime, Xbox One players will have to suffice with the Beta for the moment with PlayStation soon to follow.
