The Underworld Saga marches on in the continuing war between vampires and lycans, and it’s looking like the darkest installment of the franchise to date (if that’s even possible in such a grim-looking world). Since the initial release of the trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars,  a fresh look at one of the epic fight scenes has been released to expectant audiences everywhere. Rehashing the trope of “lone wolf”, Selene has made enemies with her own kind once again. In the seemingly never-ending struggle between Lycans and Vampires, this latest installment picks up where the last film left off, with Selene and her daughter fleeing the warring factions’ attempts to use their blood to create Vampire-Corvinus bloodlines.

Throughout it all, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), David (Theo James) and Thomas (Charles Dance) fight to end the war at long last, and it is a fight that could cost Selene dearly in the end. The above clip is just a slice of the action coming, as the femme-fatale battles the main bad guy, Varga (Bradley James) in a fight that proves she may have finally met her match.

With the end of the year coming up, recent trailer releases have left promises that the year 2017 has some pretty amazing films coming our way. Trailers for Spider-man: Homecoming and Transformers: The Last Knight paint tales of adventure and mayhem in the coming months, and Underworld: Blood Wars is no exception. If you’ve been a fan of the dark and dreary war since the first film’s release over ten years ago, you’ll want to see how the saga’s culminating plot brings the thrills of Selene’s fight to an end at last.
