Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Studio Discusses The Future Of The Franchise

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Devs Discuss The Future Of The Franchise

The latest entry in the rebooted Tomb Raider series has proven to be a long and arduous journey for Lara Croft, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider receiving loads of new content since the game’s release late last year. With several expansions now in the rear view mirror, fans have begun to wonder what the future holds for our adventurer, and if the game’s studio has anything to say about it, there’s plenty more story to be told.

Speaking to USGamer, Eidos Montreal producer Jonathan Dahan was asked whether or not fans could expect future entries for the current series. Dahan didn’t have anything definitive to say in his response, though what he did say was at the very least optimistic. “I’d be extremely surprised if we didn’t see more of it,” he said.

We’re not able to say anything about what’s happening next, but I’d be very surprised if we didn’t hear more about the franchise.”

While Dahan’s response is optimistic, it is ultimately up to Square Enix to determine whether or not the series should be continued. That said, all three mainline Tomb Raider games have been incredibly well received and have sold well, so it only makes sense for the Japanese publisher to want to keep putting resources into it. It may take a while, but chances are we’ll see Lara Croft in action once again in the future.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
