Fans are getting excited for Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming RPG The Outer Worlds, especially with all of the information the developers have been kind enough to share as of late. That said, it looks like the release date for the game may have been leaked, and it points to a launch this summer.

There was an update that was recently pushed to the Steam listing of The Outer Worlds, and it appears to have leaked the release date for the highly-anticipated title. It revealed August 6, 2019 as the launch date for the RPG. However, another update arrived later that day and removed the release date. Thankfully, this is the Internet, and the update log can be found on SteamDB.

None of this is concrete, however, as it could just as easily have been a typo on someone’s part. Who knows, maybe the actual release date is August 5th. That said, it is best to keep the salt handy and await official word from Obsidian Entertainment. In the meantime, here’s more on The Outer Worlds:

“Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.”
