The Last Of Us Part 2 Update Adds Permadeath, Grounded Difficulty, And More (VIDEO)

Naughty Dog The Last of Us Part 2

Fans have been putting Ellie and company through their paces since The Last of Us Part 2 arrived on PlayStation 4. That said, Naughty Dog is releasing a new update for the popular journey, which brings the Grounded difficulty back, adds Permadeath, and much more.

In a new trailer, along with a corresponding blog post from the developers, fans are treated to what is on the horizon for The Last of Us Part 2. Most notably, players who are familiar with the series will be getting the rough and tough Grounded difficulty, which removes a bounty of elements, including parts of the HUD, the Listen mode, and more. In addition to this, the devs will be taking things a step further by adding Permadeath, which will make players start from the very beginning should they perish along the adventure.

Not only will the new The Last of Us Part 2 update be adding additional difficulty levels for players to enjoy, but it will also include new graphics modifiers to possibly enhance the overall experience. “Have you ever wondered what The Last of Us Part II would look like as a cel-shaded adventure or if it was made in the retro 8-bit era,” the blog post asks. “How about if it was a black and white noir thriller or sepia-toned classic?” Well, with the new update, players will be able to choose from nearly 30 graphics modes, as well as a bounty of audio modifiers.
