The Division 2 Getting New Game Mode Later This Year
Coming off the fun times that were included with the recent Resident Evil content inside the world of The Division 2, fans are looking to what may be next for the adventure. Of course, with the developers at Massive Entertainment working on a Star Wars project, many thought this would be the end of latest Division entry. They were sure to note that this is not the case, and now they have revealed a new game mode will be arriving later this year.
Taking to Ubisoft’s website, the devs at Massive provided fans with an update on what’s happening behind the scenes. According to them, the next major update will include “a game mode that is entirely new to the franchise.” While that is exciting, the update is still early in development and won’t be arriving until late 2021 at the earliest. “As announced a few weeks back, we have begun work on new content for The Division 2,” reads the post. “The development of this content will be led by a group of project veterans at Ubisoft Massive. This will see Adrian Trasca and Yannick Banchereau staying at the helm of the project as producer and associate creative director. We are also excited to announce that the new content will be made with the support of a talented group of developers at Ubisoft Bucharest.”
Due to the development team working on new content for late 2021, what comes to the game between now and then won’t exactly be fresh. In fact, while the devs are working on the new stuff, they will be re-running seasons, with the next season being a re-run of the first in The Division 2. “On top of re-running seasons, we will continue to support the game with new Apparel Events and some minor Title Updates focused on game health,” the devs said.
It is unknown exactly when the new content will be arriving, but in the meantime, The Division 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and new-gen consoles.
