First Teaser Released for JJ Abrams/Stephen King Series Castle Rock (VIDEO)

Castle Rock

A new drama is on the horizon from Hulu. Stephen King and JJ Abrams are coming together to bring fans Castle Rock, an anthology named after the fictional town featured in several of King’s books. The show is meant to follow characters from the works of King that feature the titular location, intertwining with one another and blending themes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Each season will follow a different set of characters and storylines while interjecting themes and specific characters from previous seasons.” Sounds like a good time!

Speaking of a good time, the above cryptic tweet was sent out by Bad Robot on Friday. Without an actual link attached, users were forced to type out the URL. How awful, right? Only kidding, of course. It was a neat way to tease the upcoming show and make fans work a little for the prize at the end of the tunnel. That prize, you ask? The teaser trailer for Castle Rock. Have a look:

The video opens with a suspenseful soundtrack as the iconic red robot from Bad Robot slides into frame. The music swells as a list of titles, characters, and locations of Stephen King’s works begins to fly into view. As each thing is visible, a bit of dialogue or noise can be heard that one would associate with each listing. In the teaser, we see the list of Salem’s Lot, Needful Things, Shawshank State Prison, Annie Wilkes, Pennywise, and Danny Torrance.

Really, this all we know about Castle Rock. There hasn’t been any mention of how long a season will be, when the show will premiere, or even who is going to be in it. We do know that it’s a Hulu original. However, with JJ Abrams and Stephen King involved, it is sure to be one hell of a ride!

What say you, readers? Are you excited for the upcoming show? Are you a fan of either Abrams or King? Let us know in the comments section below! Before you head down there, of course, you should most certainly check this out. Donald Glover and James Earl Jones have been cast for the upcoming live-action Lion King reboot. That should be interesting. For more things that tickle your fancy, be sure to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Twitter for 24/7 gaming news!
