Superhot Director Announces Plans For Nintendo Switch Port

Superhot Director Announces Plans For Switch Port

Indie game Superhot offered an exciting, different take on your typical first-person shooter when it launched for PC and Xbox One back in 2016. The title turned even more heads when it was released on the PlayStation 4 in July 2017, and ended up being a terrific addition to the ever-growing library of VR games. Now, it appears that Superhot’s next destination is the Nintendo Switch.

In a recent interview with Destructoid, Superhot director Piotr Iwanicki revealed that there are in fact plans to bring the game to the Switch. “There are plans. It should be there, Iwanicki said.” “There’s a conflict with me because I’m the guy who will just say everything up front but the plans are there and we’ve done some preliminary work on it. It still has no date or anything. But I think it should happen.”

The Switch is a cool platform and it’s an innovative platform. [Nintendo] rediscovered something that was already there. Nintendo is good with their stuff. Superhot would fit there well.”

While a port for the Nintendo Switch sounds perfect, that’s not the only news that has surfaced recently for the shooter. Game developer GameTomo recently announced that ‘Superhot Jp’ is in development for an initial Japan-only release, featuring alternate levels that draw heavily upon Japan-inspired environments and Japanese culture. If the possible Switch port takes its time, maybe it will contain levels from both versions of the game? Here’s hoping.

Superhot is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and VR.

So, thoughts on a potential Switch port for Superhot? Hoping that the Japanese version will see a Western release?
